It's that time again,
By: Charles
Date: Oct 14, 2009
Well it's Hunting season again and I have been hitting the woods every weekend since Septempber. Taking my two oldest boys Noah and Haden bowhunting was a task like last year since they have a hard time staying still in my bow blind for very long. How is it that they always seem to sneeze and caugh the entire time we are hunting. I got in a great Dove hunt on the Texas-Mexico...

Doves, Doves, and more Doves,
By: ocagent
Date: Sep 24, 2009
The last few weeks have been a marathon of dove hunting. Hosting groups of family, friends, and corporate groups for dove hunts is a major part of our business each year. I have heard about this down economy and it hurting the hunting industry, but we opened a new, third lodge for this year, and we were up 40% in dove bookings.

So its been busy to say the...

Bacteria dangers with feral hogs in Texas,
By: TexasHunter
Date: Sep 17, 2009
HOUSTON (AP) - A Tomball man developed symptoms that turned out to have nothing to do with swine flu but everything to do with hogs.

Doctors diagnosed 76-year-old James Belcher with brucellosis. Belcher picked up brucellosis from feral hogs that have rooted through parts of his property in Cherokee County.

The Houston Chronicle reported Thursday...

New Mexico Bears and Antelope,
By: ocagent
Date: Sep 9, 2009
I'm a little late on this report, but I am just now getting to a computer as we have been guiding dove hunters and getting ready for deer season. But, before all that started, I had a great hunt out in New Mexico, with clients, for bears and antelope.

In addition to guiding full time here in Texas, I guided antelope hunters with one of the outfitters we book...

Alaskan Trip of a Lifetime!,
By: ocagent
Date: Aug 6, 2009
Though most of my time this summer has been spent in the office booking our clients on trips around the world, I do still get to have a little adventure. What started out years ago as a last adventure for my Granddad, after his lifetime of traveling, hunting, and fishing, has turned into a yearly trip for he and I. Every day we have fished in Alaska has been a great day, but...

Cockroaches,
By: Charles
Date: Jun 18, 2009
I got in a fight with a cock roach in the house today. I shot if with a bb gun, it flew down from ceiling and tried to land on me, I then swung the gun back and forth. The Gun broke in half and the roach landed on the drapes as I screamed. I then hit it with the stock of the gun to finish him off. Then I changed my underwear and headed off to

Health Test,
By: Charles
Date: May 8, 2009
Because My mother Theresa Felchak passed away a few weeks ago from heart disease and also because my father has had three different triple by-pass operations, I decided to go get a stress test today. I encourage all of you to do the same. Luckily I turned out fine. I always try to test my heart during hunting season by dragging my deer or hog back to my atv. But since that...

My First Blog,
By: ocagent
Date: Mar 19, 2009
I have been planning on starting a blog for quite some time, and now I am really going to get started. I am looking forward to talking about my own hunting and fishing trips, about the guiding that I do, and about the booking services that we offer. At least it will give me a chance to think through it all, even if nobody reads it!

Even with the down economy,...

Wow! I keep receiving emails that ask where I have been, what I have been up to and what is going on. I guess that I have not been keeping up with my myoutdoorspace.com blog duties!! So, here goes.....

A day I will not forget,
By: Charles
Date: Nov 6, 2008
I am taking my oldest son Noah who is 8 years old to my deer lease this weekend in South Texas to let him shoot his first deer ever. I am so excited about this. I am more excited than if I were going to shoot one myself. He does not know yet. I am going to tell him tonight. My second oldest son Haden will be with us. He is not quite ready to shoot a deer but he thinks he knows...

This is America and we will get throught this, we live in the greatest country in the world and dare I say, I live in the best outdoor state, Texas. Seabass, when you read this brother, you are welcome here on a trip...

Here's the deal,
By: Seabass
Date: Sep 25, 2008
There's a few people on here that know me personally so I must be very careful what I say. I found the gold mine, SHHHH! I said it; Keep it on the down low, ok. The bucks that we were on already figured us out, like big bucks always do. We had them 20 yards off the tree and didn’t make it happen on the monster two times, I knew he would be on to us. Might not see him again...

Bow Season Baby!!!,
By: Charles
Date: Sep 24, 2008
I pulled the bow bag out of the attic tonight and flung a few arrows at the target in the back yard in preparation for this weekend. I know that I am supposed to practice all year, and three days before season is bad but it has worked well for me thru the years. I shot great, put the bow back in the bag and will shoot again tomorrow. My bud deadeye shot today and his bowstring...

Elk Rut in New Mexico,
By: NewMexicoHunt
Date: Sep 23, 2008
I just came back from another awesome Elk hunt in the Gila National Forest. I prommised a friend of mine I would help him shoot his first bull. The first morning I called in a nice 6 by 6 for him but the bull busted him and split the scene before he could get a shot. That evening I bugled in a bull and got the bull to start chasing me as I bugled and cow called. He came...
